～Embrace nature and flowers in everyday life～
From March to May 2022, the 38th National Urban Greening Fair Kumamoto Fair was held across three main venues in the city: the Downtown Area, Waterfront Area, and Mountain Area, all symbolizing the greenery, water, history, and culture of Kumamoto. The event featured a wide variety of exhibits and hands-on activities centered around flowers and greenery, drawing in many visitors.
Building on this legacy, the "Kumamoto Flower Expo" is set to be held again this year, continuing from the success of last year.
※The National Urban Greening Fair, one of Japan’s largest flower and greenery festivals, was initiated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism in 1983 and has been hosted in different cities across Japan each year since then.

Kumamoto Hanahaku 2025 aims to shift from a government-initiated event into one that is organized by the citizens, where each and every person can play an active role. In addition to workshops and volunteer activities where anyone can participate proactively, we hope that people will feel a closer connection to flowers and greenery through self-planned and self-proposed events.
We strive to promote regional revitalization and exchange among citizens by sharing the appeal of flowers and greenery through a diverse array of seasonal and year-round events.
